Compensation Lead

About the role

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville seeks a Compensation Lead to provide leadership and day‑to‑day supervision of the institution’s compensation functions. The role serves as a subject‑matter expert, guiding colleges and departments to ensure consistent, equitable compensation practices aligned with university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the compensation team, overseeing complex classification and compensation transactions, salary adjustments, and employment offers.
• Conduct workforce and market analyses, benchmark compensation, and coordinate annual compensation surveys and reporting.
• Provide recommendations on market competitiveness, internal equity, and salary administration to university leadership.
• Support colleges and departments with compensation inquiries and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to special HR projects and mentor compensation analysts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related field with at least three years of progressive compensation experience.
• Preferred: five or more years in compensation, CCP or similar certification, higher‑education or public‑sector HR experience, and familiarity with Workday and Payfactors.
