Compensation Lead – Human Resources

About the role

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville seeks a Compensation Lead to provide leadership and day‑to‑day supervision of the institution’s compensation functions. The role serves as a subject‑matter expert, guiding colleges and departments to ensure consistent, equitable compensation practices aligned with university policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve complex classification, salary adjustments, employment offers, and other compensation transactions.
• Lead compensation benchmarking, workforce analytics, and annual compensation surveys, delivering recommendations on market competitiveness and internal equity.
• Conduct workforce and market analyses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legislation.
• Supervise and develop compensation analysts, supporting special projects that advance HR and university goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of progressive compensation experience; five years preferred.
• CCP or other compensation certification preferred.
• Experience in higher‑education or public‑sector HR environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
• Hands‑on experience with Workday and Payfactors compensation systems.
