Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer to lead and manage our CRA compliance program for a mid‑size bank in Provo, Utah. The role involves developing strategies, analyzing lending data, and ensuring the bank meets regulatory expectations while supporting community development.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain a comprehensive CRA compliance program and public file.
• Develop and execute CRA strategies to achieve a satisfactory or outstanding rating.
• Analyze HMDA, small‑business, and consumer loan data to assess performance and identify gaps.
• Prepare regular reports for executive management and the board on CRA results.
• Serve as primary liaison with regulators during examinations and coordinate documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, and local stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to lending, retail, and operations teams on CRA requirements.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk functions to integrate CRA objectives across the bank.

Required profile

• Banking experience with solid knowledge of CRA, HMDA, ECOA and fair‑lending regulations.
• Proven ability to interpret regulatory guidance and examination expectations.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and demographic trend assessment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presentations.
• High attention to detail, organizational ability and demonstrated integrity.
• Willingness to obtain or hold the CRA Certified Professional (CRACP) designation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with compliance software such as Bankrite or NContracts.
