Community Manager for Active Adult Community

About the role

The Community Manager leads daily operations of an Active Adult community, ensuring exceptional resident experiences, strong financial performance, and full regulatory compliance. Reporting to regional management, you will be the primary liaison between ownership, residents, and the onsite team.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to resident concerns, complaints, and requests, resolving issues with empathy.
• Prepare and submit accurate accounting, financial, administrative, and operational reports.
• Serve as liaison with ownership, investors, and regional/asset management, presenting performance updates and market insights.
• Lead ownership and partner site visits, offering recommendations for asset preservation, revenue growth, and expense control.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of onsite staff, ensuring compliance with certifications and company policies.
• Manage lease enforcement, conduct periodic apartment inspections, and handle eviction processes as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing residential or property communities, preferably for active‑adult (55+) residents.
• Strong understanding of Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and other housing regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead a team, drive operational excellence, and maintain high resident satisfaction.

Required skills

• Knowledge of property management software and financial reporting tools.
• Experience with budgeting, expense control, and revenue optimization.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and lease enforcement procedures.
