Community Health Worker I/II/III

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks Community Health Workers at three levels to provide education, resources, and health outreach to patients and the local community. Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and recruitment of individuals, families, and community groups to health and social services.
• Provide case management support, care coordination, and assist navigation of health and social service systems.
• Deliver culturally appropriate health education, disease prevention, and self‑management support.
• Participate in community assessments, asset mapping, and present at local agencies and events.
• Mentor and supervise lower‑level Community Health Workers (for Level III).

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED required for all levels.
• Level I: 2 years of general community outreach or related experience; enroll in certified CHW training within 45 days.
• Level II: Completed certified CHW training and 4 years of CHW experience; mastery of Level I competencies.
• Level III: CHW certification from ARCHWAM, 9 years of CHW experience, mastery of Level I & II competencies.
