Community Health Worker – Arkansas Center for Women & Infant Health

About the role

The Arkansas Center for Women & Infant Health is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) to improve health outcomes for women, infants, and families across Jefferson County. The CHW will serve as a bridge between the community and health/social service systems, delivering culturally appropriate education and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to individuals, families, and community groups to recruit participants for services and programs.
• Provide case management, care coordination, and assistance navigating health and social service systems.
• Translate and culturally adapt educational materials and resources.
• Participate in community assessments, asset mapping, and present health information at local events.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED plus two years of experience in community outreach, education, case management, or administration.
• Residence in or willingness to commute daily to Jefferson County.
• Reliable transportation, working cell phone, and internet access.
• Ability to mentor and supervise other CHWs.

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in case management and group education techniques.
• Knowledge of health disparities and culturally appropriate outreach strategies.
