Community Health Worker – ACWIH (Jefferson County)

About the role

The Arkansas Center for Women & Infant Health is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) to improve health outcomes for women, infants, and families in Jefferson County. The CHW will work on the front lines of public health, delivering education, case management, and culturally relevant resources to diverse populations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and recruitment of individuals, families, and community groups to health and social services.
• Provide case management support, coordinate care, and help clients navigate health and social service systems.
• Facilitate cross‑cultural communication and adapt educational materials to local cultural norms.
• Participate in community assessments, asset mapping, and present health information at local events.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED plus two years of experience in community outreach, education, case management, or administration.
• Must reside in or be willing to commute daily to Jefferson County.
• Reliable transportation, a working cell phone, and internet access.
• Ability to mentor and supervise team members (CHW III).

Required skills

• Knowledge of health disparities and culturally appropriate outreach strategies.
