Community Health Organizer – Multiple Texas Locations

About the role

The Community Health Organizer will support Texas A&M's Opioid Prevention for K‑12 Students (TOPS) program across four Texas cities. This position blends administrative duties, community outreach, and curriculum delivery to advance public health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute community engagement activities for the TOPS program.
• Deliver training sessions for Certified Community Health Workers (CHW) and CHW Instructors.
• Manage program logistics, including event planning and documentation.
• Travel to Amarillo, Tyler, San Angelo, and Austin to support site‑specific needs.
• Maintain compliance with university policies, state and federal regulations, and grant requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree in public health or related field preferred.
• At least four years of experience in public/community relations, event planning, or similar roles.
• Certification as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and/or CHW Instructor is highly desirable.
• Fluent written and oral English and Spanish.
• Ability to travel independently, often up to 50% of the time.
