Community Health Clinical Faculty (Part-Time)

About the role

Chamberlain University is looking for a part-time Visiting Professor to teach clinical nursing courses in its Community Health program in Addison, IL. The role brings together the college's philosophy, curriculum and course objectives through hands-on clinical teaching, with a flexible schedule, mentorship and support programs and opportunities for career growth.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
• Plan clinical experiences and supervise and evaluate nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
• Provide documented feedback on student performance and offer remediation when needed.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments suited to each student's knowledge and skill level, and return homework, quizzes, tests and clinical paperwork in a timely way.
• Keep current on agency and clinical policies and procedures with the help of agency personnel.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator, and keep the coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
• Contribute to program development and evaluation, participate in the assessment program, retention efforts and campus policies, and act as a professional role model.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean; handle other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing (required).
• At least 2 years of recent experience (within the last five years) as a registered nurse in maternal-child nursing.
• Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois (required).
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment.
