Community Assistant – Student Living at The Accolade

About the role

The Community Assistant supports the property management team at The Accolade Collegiate Village East, helping to achieve occupancy and resident retention goals. This position involves a mix of administrative, leasing, and resident‑service duties in a student‑focused living community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform office administrative tasks such as copying, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling calls, and organizing rent payments.
• Assist with leasing activities: conduct virtual tours, respond to online inquiries, greet and qualify prospects, give property tours, and show apartments.
• Generate lease paperwork, organize lease files, and support the move‑in and move‑out processes, including mandatory “turn” dates.
• Answer incoming calls, schedule prospect appointments, and conduct on‑campus marketing outreach to drive community awareness.
• Coordinate resident events and programs (parties, birthday cards, unit visits) to enhance satisfaction.
• Distribute resident communications such as flyers, newsletters, surveys, and late notices.
• Serve as an after‑hours liaison, responding to emergencies and covering at least one on‑call shift per week.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with residents and prospects.
• Willingness to work mandatory move‑in/move‑out dates and on‑call shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently and maintain organized records.
• Comfortable performing on‑site marketing outreach and supporting community events.
