Communications Specialist – Community Relations (Full Benefits)

About the role

The District Office is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the Community Relations and Engagement Department. This full-time position works Monday‑Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and includes comprehensive benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with community relations and engagement initiatives for the district.
• Prepare and distribute communications materials as needed.
• Support media production activities when required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) with two years of college coursework in public relations, communications, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related area.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or related field; four years of media production experience.
• Typing certificate demonstrating at least 50 net words per minute, issued within the past two years.
• Pre‑employment TB clearance and fingerprinting (employee‑cost).
• Preference will be given to internal candidates.

Required skills

• Typing (minimum 50 net WPM, certified).
