Communications Manager

About the role

Opal is seeking a Communications Manager to shape and share its story worldwide. You will work directly with the CEO and collaborate closely with the marketing team and senior leadership to amplify Opal’s mission of healthier technology use.

Key responsibilities

• Own inbound media, partnership and communications opportunities from journalists, creators, schools, companies, researchers and NGOs.
• Develop and nurture relationships with press, influencers and strategic partners.
• Craft compelling narratives, press releases, thought‑leadership pieces and brand messaging.
• Collaborate with the marketing team (social, brand) to ensure consistent storytelling across channels.
• Coordinate bi‑annual travel to Europe for meetups, events and partnership development.
• Track media coverage and report on communication impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, public relations or media relations.
• Strong storytelling ability and passion for digital wellbeing.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving, mission‑driven startup environment.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining close collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
