Commercial/Industrial HVAC Technician – Sign-On Bonus

About the role

Sylvester & Cockrum is seeking an experienced Commercial/Industrial HVAC Technician to join our growing team in the Greenville and Columbia, SC area. The position offers a sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates and provides a dynamic field environment where safety and quality are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service a wide range of HVAC systems, including hydronic, steam, chilled water, DX, forced air, heat pump, VAV, constant volume, exhaust, and heat recovery.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on equipment.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment, and keep accurate service records.
• Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
• Communicate effectively with customers and uphold a professional appearance.
• Flexibility to work extended shifts or overtime as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial/Industrial HVAC Service Technician.
• Hands‑on experience with HVAC/R equipment such as electrical, refrigeration, gas/oil, VAV/mixing boxes, fan boxes, controls, VRF, VFD, CRAC, water‑source heat pumps, chillers, boilers, and related hydronic systems.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and universal CFC certification.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
