About the role

The Commercial Truck Driving (CDL) Program Director leads the CDL training program at Columbus Technical College. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, the director ensures high‑quality instruction, regulatory compliance, and strong industry partnerships to prepare students for successful careers in commercial transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom, range, and behind‑the‑wheel instruction for CDL operations.
• Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with TCSG standards and industry needs.
• Oversee program administration, student success initiatives, and continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal transportation regulations.
• Build and sustain relationships with employers, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate teaching schedules across multiple counties and manage travel requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in commercial truck driving and driver training.
• Demonstrated leadership in an educational or training environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and on‑site locations.
• Physical capability to demonstrate vehicle components and perform hands‑on training.
