About the role
Lola Blankets, a fast‑growing design‑driven brand known for its faux‑fur blankets, is looking for a highly creative and detail‑oriented Color & Print Designer. Based in New York City, you will shape seasonal color direction and print development across blankets, sleepwear, and accessories, translating trends and brand DNA into production‑ready artwork.
Key responsibilities
- Support the creation and execution of seasonal color palettes and print direction aligned with brand strategy.
- Develop digital mood boards, inspiration decks, and trend research presentations for concept reviews.
- Design original prints and patterns for mainline and collaborations, offering multiple colorways and scale options.
- Prepare production‑ready artwork files for vendor handoff, ensuring technical accuracy.
- Manage lab dip and print strike‑off processes, reviewing tone, saturation, scale, and hand feel.
- Provide clear feedback to vendors to maintain color consistency and print quality.
- Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to align creative direction with commercial goals.
- Support product storytelling and visual assets for internal reviews and launch planning.
Required profile
- 3+ years of experience at a fast‑growing DTC apparel or home brand, at the Associate Designer or Designer level.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating print development, color storytelling, and multi‑category execution.
- Deep understanding of textile printing techniques and production processes, including lab dips and print strike‑offs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and experience using AI‑based design platforms.
- Knowledge of repeat layouts, scale development, and color separation for production.
- Highly organized with strong project‑management skills and ability to manage multiple seasonal calendars.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
