Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor (W-2 or 1099)

About the role

This position provides outpatient counseling for individuals with co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Candidates may choose to work as a W‑2 employee or as a 1099 independent contractor, splitting services between two affiliated behavioral‑health organizations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver group and individual counseling sessions to clients in community‑based group homes, office settings, or via telehealth.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and complete all required client documentation within established timelines.
• Coordinate care and scheduling across Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center and Community Wellness Outpatient Mental Health Center.
• Maintain compliance with clinical model fidelity, documentation standards, and each organization’s contractual requirements.
• Provide evidence‑based substance‑use and mental‑health treatment interventions.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Co‑Occurring Disorder Counselor or equivalent clinical credential.
• Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week, dividing time between the two organizations.
• Willingness to travel to multiple community sites and group‑home locations in Baltimore.
• Compliance with all licensing, insurance, and independent‑contractor classification requirements.
