CNC Set‑up Operator – Rollomatic Grinding Machines

About the role

We are a growing precision manufacturing team producing high‑quality round cutting tools. The Rollomatic CNC Set‑up Operator will set up, program, operate and maintain Rollomatic grinding machines on the 3rd shift (8 p.m. – 6 a.m., Monday‑Thursday) at our Reynoldsville facility.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate Rollomatic CNC grinders (e.g., 529Xw, 620XS, 628WX, 630WX, Grind Smart series) for round tool production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tool drawings and engineering specifications.
• Load programs, make offsets and perform minor edits to ensure tool geometry accuracy.
• Conduct first‑piece inspection and in‑process checks using micrometers, calipers, indicators and optical equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and tool quality, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with maintenance or engineering.
• Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Strong math skills using metrics, decimals and fractions.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Experience setting up and operating Rollomatic CNC grinding machines.
• Knowledge of round tool geometry (end mills, drills, step tools).
• Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T.
• Familiarity with Fanuc or NUM control interfaces and G‑code.
