CNC Machinist & Operator

About the role

Rennscot MFG seeks an experienced CNC Machinist & Operator to run vertical mills, 5‑axis mills, turning centers, and mill‑turn machines. You will own setups, maintain quality, and contribute to continuous improvement in a precision‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, run, and break down CNC jobs across multiple platforms, including fixturing, datum establishment, work offsets, tooling qualification, and first‑piece validation.
• Monitor machine performance and part quality using hand metrology (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and address out‑of‑tolerance conditions.
• Troubleshoot tooling, work‑holding, machine performance, and material issues; collect data and collaborate on permanent solutions.
• Complete production documentation and time tracking in ProShop ERP, ensuring traceability.
• Maintain 5S standards, perform routine machine maintenance, and follow safety protocols (AS9100, ISO9001, ITAR).

Required profile

• High School Diploma with ≥4 years CNC operation experience, or Associate’s degree with ≥2 years experience.
• Hands‑on experience with CNC mills, lathes, or mill‑turn equipment and ability to read technical setup documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, effective troubleshooting, and clear communication with engineers and teammates.

Required skills

• CNC machining on Haas, Okuma, or Heidenhain controls.
• ProShop ERP or comparable production management system.
• Hand metrology instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Knowledge of tooling, work‑holding, offsets, and 5S workplace organization.
