CNC Machinist – Manufacturing (Westminster, SC)

About the role

The CNC Machinist will set up, program, and operate a variety of CNC grinding equipment to produce cutting tools at Sandvik's Westminster, SC facility. You will work from engineering drawings and specifications while ensuring high quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Enter quality, SPC, production, and other required data into company information systems.
• Perform routine and primary maintenance on assigned equipment; assist maintenance team with major repairs.
• Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for grinding equipment.
• Operate centerless grinders, cylindrical grinders, cut‑off machines, CNC tool grinders, and related measuring instruments.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards in the work area.
• Achieve cycle‑time, productivity, and machine utilization targets while complying with safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience working with CNC machines in a mechanical or process environment.
• Strong work ethic, commitment to quality and safety, and understanding of workflow impact.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Required skills

• CNC programming and operation.
• Operation of centerless grinders, cylindrical grinders, cut‑off machines, and CNC tool grinders.
• Use of precision measuring instruments.
• Routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
• Data entry into production and SPC systems.
