About the role
AAM is hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist with programming experience for a prototype machining facility in Warren, Michigan, on the second shift. The second shift may run 8 or 10 hours, starting at 4 PM EST, and pays a differential. The role involves programming, setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce tooling and prototypes.
Key responsibilities
- Program, set up and operate CNC lathes producing tooling and prototypes (Mazak, Mazatrol)
- Perform precision work with tight tolerances
- Verify stock and tooling before running the machine
- Set offsets using a touch probe, test indicator or edge finder
- Check parts with micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers or a touch probe
Required profile
- High school diploma
- CNC programming experience
