CNC Field Service Technician

About the role

Robert E. Morris, one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America, is looking for a CNC Field Service Technician in Worcester, Massachusetts. The technician is part of the Customer Support Department and is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing CNC lathes, milling machines and multi-functional machining centers at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Travel daily to customer facilities, with occasional overnight stays for remote locations or remote training
• Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, diagnose and repair CNC equipment and accessories, including operator training, preventive maintenance, overhauls, upgrades and retrofits
• Provide a direct link between customers and the Service Group and give customer feedback
• Use machine tool manuals and technical documents to diagnose and fix equipment issues
• Work safely in manufacturing environments and in the office and training environment at the company

Required profile

• Understanding of mechanical drawings, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, PLC ladder diagrams and testing equipment, learned on the job or in class
• Electro-mechanical skills, or willingness to be trained; knowledge of machine tools is a plus
• Basic digital literacy with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Highly mobile, able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance, and able to work in industrial settings while wearing PPE
