Cloud Developer / Integrator

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Cloud Developer/Integrator for a team that provides cloud-based geolocation solutions in near-real-time to decision makers and warfighters worldwide. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with possible after-hours call-ins. The salary range is $270,000 - $300,000.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure, including modernization, migration and roadmaps, following best practices and governance.
• Build reusable modules (e.g., Helm Charts, Terraform) and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards.
• Monitor infrastructure health and performance through logging and alerting, and fix issues to improve efficiency.
• Define failure and recovery strategies, cost optimization measures (tagging, budgets, rightsizing, autoscaling) and benefit analysis of cloud services.
• Take part in continuous improvement, contribute to architectures, runbooks and operational procedures, and share knowledge with internal teams.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or four years of similar software development experience in place of it.
• Five years of software development/engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Within the last five years, at least three years programming in Java, C and/or C++.
• Within the last five years, at least three years with open source NoSQL products such as HBase, CloudBase/Accumulo or Big Table.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Required skills

• Cloud infrastructure provisioning and IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
• Java and React development.
• Containers and platform workloads (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Monitoring, logging and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch).
• Backup, disaster recovery, high availability, secrets management and cost optimization.
• Linux.
• Hadoop/Cloud Developer certification.
