Clinical Therapist

About the role

Confluence provides a clinically intensive mental health program for young adults, blending wilderness adventure therapy with residential, farm, and wellness services. The Clinical Therapist delivers individual, family, and group therapy, creates treatment plans, and monitors participant progress to support recovery and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct weekly individual, family, and group clinical sessions with participants.
• Develop, assess, and update individualized treatment and discharge plans.
• Perform ongoing assessments and check‑in sessions to track progress.
• Collaborate with direct‑care staff, mentors, and coaches to integrate clinical interventions.
• Participate in weekly clinical team meetings and consult with the broader clinical team.
• Maintain correspondence with referring professionals, previous clinicians, and partner programs.
• Support site visits by professionals and potential participants, and represent the program at marketing events and conferences (travel required).
• Provide on‑call emergency clinical support as needed.

Required profile

• License to practice in Vermont or enrollment on the state roster for non‑licensed professionals.
• PhD/PsyD or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, or a related field.
• Academic or professional interest in working with emerging adults.
• Experience or strong interest in wilderness therapy, outdoor recreation, experiential education, or adventure‑based counseling.
