About the role
The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute seeks a Clinical Staff Fellow to support its nationally‑ranked ophthalmology department. The fellow will provide direct patient care, assist in resident education, and contribute to the institute’s research and clinical excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver extensive direct ophthalmic patient care in clinic and operating rooms.
- Participate in night and weekend on‑call rotations.
- Supervise and train residents during clinical encounters and surgeries.
- Assist with teaching activities and curriculum development for the ophthalmology training program.
- Assume appropriate administrative duties related to the fellowship.
Required profile
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited U.S. program.
- Completion of an ACGME‑accredited ophthalmology residency.
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible in ophthalmology.
- Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate.
- DEA certification.
