Clinical Social Worker – Behavioral Health Optimization Program (BHOP)

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a licensed Clinical Social Worker to join the Behavioral Health Optimization Program (BHOP) at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The role provides direct mental‑health services to service members, their families, and other beneficiaries in a fast‑paced primary‑care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual, family, group, and couples psychotherapy, as well as alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
• Provide brief cognitive‑behavioral interventions (15‑30 minute appointments) in a primary‑care model following the Air Force BHOP Practice Manual.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in mental‑health, inpatient, and electronic medical records.
• Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as needed.
• Complete Air Force Phase I and Phase II Behavioral Health Consultant training and other mission‑specific training (e.g., suicide prevention, PTSD, combat stress).
• Adhere to all security, safety, and access policies at the installation.

Required profile

• Current LCSW (or equivalent) license and eligibility to practice in the United States.
• Experience providing psychotherapy and behavioral health assessments in a clinical or primary‑care setting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and to work in a military environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
