Clinical Research Participant Specialist

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Psychiatry seeks a full‑time Clinical Research Participant Specialist to support community outreach, recruitment, and enrollment for a variety of clinical studies and trials.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing recruiting strategies for Phase I‑IV clinical trials.
• Source and recruit participants using databases, social media, hospitals, mental‑health clinics, and community shelters.
• Prescreen, evaluate, and consent eligible candidates according to IRB‑approved protocols.
• Maintain accurate participant records, complete intake forms, and update the study database.
• Conduct in‑person and telephone interviews, questionnaires, cognitive assessments, and biometric measurements as required.
• Market studies to referral sources, present at community events, and develop educational materials.
• Provide analytical recruiting reports to leadership and act as liaison between referral sources and the research team.

Required profile

• Experience in community outreach and participant recruitment for clinical research.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial phases and research protocols.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with participants, families, and referral partners.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to university policies.
