About the role

The Clinical Research Dentist is a licensed dental professional responsible for performing specialized oral examinations on human research participants. Working within the Consumer Products Services division, the role ensures strict adherence to study protocols, ethical standards, and Good Clinical Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Perform oral examinations and assessments (plaque and gingival indices) according to detailed study protocols and SOPs.
• Maintain participant comfort, safety, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Document findings accurately, identify protocol deviations, and report adverse events as required.
• Follow all IRB‑approved instructions and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
• Participate in study‑specific training and maintain required certifications.
• Contribute to high‑quality research data through precise and consistent examination techniques.

Required profile

• Current, active, unrestricted DDS or DMD license to practice in Ohio.
• 3–5 years of post‑licensure experience in general dentistry, preferably with clinical research exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain meticulous records.
• Commitment to ethical conduct and participant safety in human research.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Modified Turesky plaque index.
• Proficiency with Loe‑Silness gingival index.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and protocol adherence.
