Clinical Research Coordinator I – Entry Level

About the role

The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami is seeking an entry‑level Clinical Research Coordinator I to support simple clinical research protocols. This full‑time position involves managing participant eligibility, data collection, and study logistics while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform chart reviews and pre‑screen participants for study eligibility.
• Maintain enrollment procedures and coordinate routine study activities, including data collection, appointment scheduling, and visit logistics.
• Execute moderate to complex research tests and adapt procedures under supervision.
• Operate clinical research equipment, troubleshoot operational issues, and document adverse events.
• Identify and report protocol deviations, unanticipated occurrences, and ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations.
• Maintain study‑specific regulatory binders and complete mandatory training in safety, equality, and responsible conduct of research.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical research experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete assignments accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
