Clinical Program Coordinator – Lasik Center

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Clinical Program Coordinator for its Lasik Center in Miami. The role supports the development, organization, and evaluation of patient‑focused health promotion and educational programs while overseeing daily operations and volunteer staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical program activities with multiple departments to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal clinic productivity.
• Supervise volunteers, manage supply levels, and maintain the center’s appearance and order.
• Prepare financial and operational reports, monitor program budgets, and assist with short‑ and long‑range financial planning.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, handling check‑in/out, answering inquiries, and providing education on vision correction options.
• Assist physicians with scheduling, counseling, and administrative tasks for procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and other refractive surgeries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in clinical program coordination or a similar healthcare setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to develop collaborative partnerships across departments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and general computer applications.
