Clinical Product Specialist, AI Development

About the role

Lyra Health is a provider of evidence-based mental health care serving more than 20 million people globally, and is building Lyra Empower, an AI-powered platform. It is looking for a clinical scientist who wants to use artificial intelligence to expand access to evidence-based mental health interventions. The role applies clinical expertise, innovative thinking and scientific rigor to develop Lyra's AI-powered tools, within a collaborative team working on clinical technology.

Key responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of clinical research, clinical expertise and generative AI
• Apply rigorous clinical and scientific standards to clinical AI development and evaluation methods
• Use clinical expertise and the latest science on evidence-based AI in mental health to inform clinical product development
• Support AI-powered feature development across the product life cycle, including design, requirement specification, performance evaluation and post-deployment monitoring
• Communicate clinical considerations and requirements to cross-functional teams and validate their integration
• Stay informed of the latest clinical AI research and share insights with partners

Required profile

• PsyD or PhD in clinical psychology
• Current clinical licensure preferred
• 1+ year of experience developing and/or evaluating digital mental health tools and interventions
• Excellent training in evidence-based mental health approaches such as CBT, ACT and DBT
• Experience managing clinical risk and/or working with high-severity clinical populations
• Deep commitment to culturally responsive care and health equity; specialized training and experience with diverse populations preferred

Required skills

• Foundational clinical research methods, applied to generative AI work
• Strong verbal and written communication, translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Interest in AI technical domains such as machine learning and prompt engineering; prior experience is a plus
