About the role

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Hem/Onc provides expert medication management for patients receiving hematology and oncology therapies at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the specialist ensures safe, effective, and evidence‑based use of chemotherapy and supportive care medications.

Key responsibilities

• Review and optimize medication regimens for hematology/oncology patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists to develop individualized therapy plans.
• Prepare, dispense, and verify chemotherapy agents in compliance with safety standards.
• Provide drug information, education, and counseling to patients and healthcare staff.
• Participate in clinical research, formulary management, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Current active pharmacy license in the United States.
• Experience in oncology or hematology pharmacy practice.
• Strong knowledge of chemotherapy preparation, handling, and administration guidelines.
