Clinical Pharmacist – Critical Care

About the role

The Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in the intensive care unit. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the specialist ensures safe, effective, and cost‑conscious medication therapy while complying with state, federal, and Joint Commission standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage medication therapy for critically ill patients, identifying and resolving drug‑related problems.
• Provide drug information to clinicians, patients, and families upon request.
• Participate in daily rounds with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct medication utilization evaluations and contribute to formulary management.
• Prepare, compound, and dispense medications according to authorized orders.
• Educate healthcare staff on safe medication practices and emerging therapies.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of senior pharmacy leadership.

Required profile

• Licensed Pharmacist with eligibility to practice in Florida.
• Experience in critical care or intensive care pharmacy preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to regulatory standards.
