Clinical Nurse – Full Time Nights – MICU

About the role

The Clinical Nurse provides safe, competent, and evidence‑based care to patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) during night shifts. This full‑time position follows Mount Sinai’s Relationship Centered Care model and works within a Modified Primary Nursing delivery system.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process, integrating assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Prioritize teaching, rounding, coaching, and discharge planning while delegating tasks appropriately.
• Facilitate patient‑centered experiences such as admission welcome, bedside shift report, purposeful hourly rounding, medication review, and discharge wrap‑up.
• Identify and escalate safety or quality concerns, and participate in process‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, providing education and support.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse (RN) credential.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and evidence‑based practice in a fast‑paced ICU environment.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
