About the role

The UHealth Laboratories Department at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Clinical Laboratory Assistant 3. The incumbent will support technical and professional staff in both clinical and research laboratories, ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, handle, and accession patient samples for testing.
• Transport specimens and communicate test results promptly.
• Maintain laboratory files, logs, and a clean work area.
• Process specimens (centrifugation, aliquoting, volume measurement) and manage inventory.
• Generate patient reports and respond to inquiries from physicians and reference labs.
• Serve as lead or backup when the supervisor is unavailable.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Applicable certifications as required by the department.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Office software proficiency.
• Specimen processing techniques, including centrifugation.
