Clinical Instructor – Ophthalmology

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Ophthalmology seeks a Clinical Instructor to join its world‑ranked eye institute. This full‑time faculty position involves direct patient care, on‑call duties, and hands‑on teaching of residents and fellows.

Key responsibilities

• Provide extensive direct ophthalmic patient care in clinic and operating room.
• Participate in night and weekend on‑call rotations.
• Supervise and train junior residents and medical students during clinical tasks.
• Assist in curriculum development and delivery for the Ophthalmic Training Program.
• Assume appropriate administrative duties related to the residency program.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree with completion of an ACGME‑accredited ophthalmology residency in the U.S.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate.
• DEA certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ophthalmic surgical techniques and clinical procedures.
