Clinical Faculty – Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (Anatomic, Breast)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks an Open Rank Clinical Faculty member to join the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department, focusing on Anatomic Pathology of the breast. The role involves delivering high‑quality diagnostic services across multiple hospitals and cancer centers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient‑care services at UMH, JMH, SCCC and satellite locations.
• Perform gross examination, specimen photography, tissue sampling, and microscopic analysis of surgical specimens.
• Order and interpret ancillary tests, report findings, and verify diagnostic coding.
• Conduct frozen section diagnoses and autopsies as needed.
• Participate in 24‑hour call coverage according to division assignments.
• Teach pathology residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Engage in collaborative basic, clinical, or applied research and pursue grant funding.
• Contribute to quality‑assurance activities, departmental committees, and maintain accreditation standards (JCAHO/CAP/CLIA).

Required profile

• MD or DO, board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
• Active medical license to practice in the State of Florida.
