Clinical Dietitian 3

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine seeks a full‑time Clinical Dietitian 3 to provide medical nutrition therapy and dietary counseling to patients in Coral Gables, FL. The role combines direct patient care with leadership of junior staff and serves as a nutrition resource for the clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to coordinate patients' medical and nutritional needs.
• Assess nutritional status, develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, and document findings in the EMR.
• Write orders for diet, supplements, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and related laboratory tests per hospital policy.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families on medical nutrition therapy, drug‑nutrient interactions, and diabetes self‑management.
• Lead and mentor less‑experienced dietetic staff, serving as a subject‑matter expert.
• Participate in performance‑improvement activities, community outreach, and departmental training.

Required profile

• Relevant education, certifications, and/or work experience in clinical nutrition.
• Ability to assess, document, and monitor nutritional needs of hospitalized and outpatient populations.
• Strong communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
