Clinical Business Operations Specialist

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Miami Transplant Institute seeks a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Specialist to lead a team of representatives and ensure smooth pre‑ and post‑transplant patient care. The role blends administrative, receptionist, and coordination duties while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Guide Clinical Business Operations Representatives, provide training, and drive continuous improvement.
• Obtain and verify patient demographics, insurance, referrals, and clinical authorizations.
• Answer multiple department phones, triage calls, document messages, and greet visitors.
• Schedule and coordinate colonoscopy, EGD, and surgery appointments for transplant patients using Cerner and OTTR.
• Collaborate with transplant service lines and Jackson clinical operation leaders on scheduling.
• Provide coverage for other clinical areas (TID, Psych, Nephrology, Hepatology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Critical Care) as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Minimum three years of related experience.
• Demonstrated learning agility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Technical proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
