Clinical Business Operations Representative – Level 3

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative 3 to work remotely. The incumbent will support daily clinical operations by handling patient communications, managing prior authorizations, and ensuring smooth pre‑ and post‑care processes.

Key responsibilities

• Answer multiple department phones, triage calls, document messages, and direct inquiries.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and referral information.
• Review clinical records for completeness, including authorizations and signatures.
• Process prior authorizations for medications, procedures, imaging, and specialty services.
• Follow up on pending authorizations, resolve denials, and manage appeals.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all PA activity and track expiration dates.
• Collaborate with physicians, managers, and staff to communicate PA status and resolve issues.
• Provide coverage for co‑workers and support team members with complex cases.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience, certification, or license.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in clinical operations or prior authorization processing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software.
• Experience using relevant computer applications for healthcare workflows.
