About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Sports Medicine is seeking a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative to support pre‑ and post‑operative orthopaedic patient care. The incumbent will handle administrative, receptionist, and patient‑service functions while ensuring compliance with departmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient intake, verify demographics, insurance, and referral information for orthopaedic services.
• Review clinical records for completeness, including authorizations, signatures, and operative reports.
• Answer multiple phone lines, triage calls, schedule appointments, and document communications in Epic.
• Coordinate pre‑ and post‑operative logistics, supporting surgeons, advanced practice providers, and radiology staff.
• Provide coverage for team members during absences or high‑volume periods.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information in accordance with HIPAA.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required.
• Learning agility to adapt to new procedures, technologies, and priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Technical proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.

Required skills

• Epic electronic health record system.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Multi‑line telephone system operation.
