About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative to support the Department of Patient Access. The role ensures smooth pre‑ and post‑care processes, handles administrative duties, and provides courteous assistance to patients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient expectations for pre‑ and post‑care activities.
• Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance details, and referral numbers.
• Review clinical records for completeness, including authorizations and signatures.
• Answer multiple department phones, triage calls, respond to inquiries, and document messages.
• Greet visitors, direct them appropriately, and handle inquiries.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues and maintain efficient workflow.
• Provide coverage for co‑workers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient and institutional information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant administrative or patient‑service experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends when required.
