About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative to support daily clinical workflows in its Plantation, FL location. The role focuses on ensuring smooth pre‑ and post‑patient care processes, handling administrative duties, and providing courteous front‑desk service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient demographic, insurance, and referral information and verify completeness of clinical records.
• Answer multiple department phones, triage calls, respond to inquiries, and document messages using the institute’s software.
• Greet visitors and callers, direct them appropriately, and maintain a professional reception area.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve operational issues and provide coverage for co‑workers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, managers, trainees, and staff to facilitate efficient practice flow.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient and institutional information and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of relevant administrative or clinical support experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends when required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
