About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute seeks a Clinical Business Operations Representative 3 to support daily clinical operations in Palm Beach Gardens. The role focuses on efficient patient management, administrative support, and problem resolution for pre‑ and post‑care processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the department in managing expectations surrounding pre‑ and post‑patient care.
• Obtain and review patient demographic, insurance, and referral information.
• Review clinical records for completeness, including authorizations, signatures, and missing data.
• Answer multiple telephone lines, triage calls, respond to inquiries, direct calls, and document messages.
• Greet visitors and callers, handling inquiries and directing them appropriately.
• Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems and ensure smooth practice flow.
• Provide coverage for co‑workers as needed.
• Develop and promote effective communication methods with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
