About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, is seeking a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative 2 to support the Cataract Suite. You will ensure smooth pre‑ and post‑patient care operations, handling administrative and front‑desk duties in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the department in managing expectations surrounding pre‑ and post‑patient care.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and referral information.
• Review clinical records for completeness, including authorizations and signatures.
• Answer multiple telephone lines, triage calls, respond to inquiries, and document messages.
• Greet visitors, direct callers, and provide courteous assistance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems and maintain efficient workflow.
• Provide coverage for co‑workers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience, certification, or license).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant administrative or clinical support experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills
