Clinical Business Operations Representative 1

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative 1 to support daily clinical operations on the UHealth campus. The role focuses on efficient patient‑care coordination, administrative support, and communication with providers, patients, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and referral information.
• Review clinical records for completeness, authorizations, and missing data.
• Answer multiple department phones, triage calls, document messages, and schedule appointments using Cerner EMR.
• Coordinate imaging, lab, and specialty medication authorizations.
• Contact patients for appointment reminders, no‑show follow‑ups, and prescription refills.
• Prepare clinic census and communicate urgent patient matters to providers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
• Previous customer‑service experience preferred (not required).
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Accurate data‑entry skills with minimal errors.
