Clinic Assistant, Radiology Imaging (Per Diem)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Per Diem Clinic Assistant to support the Radiology Imaging unit. This position involves a mix of clerical and patient‑facing duties, ensuring smooth daily operations and high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and manage patient charts.
• Assemble, complete, and process patient records, ensuring accurate identification.
• Transcribe physician orders, verify chart completeness, and report discrepancies.
• Order and distribute unit supplies, track inventory, and receive deliveries.
• Obtain laboratory and X‑ray reports, notify physicians of results, and use IDX RIS/PACS to monitor patient flow.
• Greet patients, verify information, and guide them through pre‑procedure protocols.
• Copy and distribute patient paperwork to appropriate departments.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience, certification, or license is a plus.
• No prior experience required; ability to learn new procedures and technologies.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IDX RIS/PACS systems.
• Competence in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
