Clinic Assistant – Allied Health Provider Services

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of UMHC‑SCCC Survivorship is seeking a full‑time Clinic Assistant to work in a hybrid setting in Miami. The role supports patient care operations and administrative functions across survivorship, lung cancer screening, and related support services.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, complete, and process patient charts while maintaining accurate records.
• Transcribe doctors’ orders, verify chart completeness, and flag issues for correction.
• Order and manage unit supplies, receive and distribute inventory.
• Obtain laboratory and x‑ray reports and promptly notify physicians.
• Use EPIC to track patient arrivals, update front‑desk staff on delays, and generate required reports.
• Greet patients, verify information, and ensure proper gowning and removal of metal items.
• Handle telephone inquiries, document equipment issues, and report incidents to supervisors.
• Support scheduling, reminder letters, and event planning for survivorship and lung‑cancer screening programs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of relevant clerical or healthcare experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
