Claims Representative Intern

About the role

Join Mapfre's 10‑week paid Summer Internship Program (June 7 – August 13, 2027) and gain hands‑on experience, professional mentorship, and valuable exposure to the insurance industry while working on meaningful projects. As a Claims Intern you will work alongside experienced professionals, develop business and customer‑service skills, and learn how insurance claims are investigated and resolved.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with auto physical‑damage claims.
• Support coverage reviews and liability investigations.
• Communicate with customers, repair facilities, and other stakeholders.
• Research claim information and maintain documentation.
• Utilize claims technology, including Guidewire.
• Participate in networking, mentorship, and professional‑development activities.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer‑focused with attention to detail, eager to learn, able to manage multiple priorities, and prior experience in customer service, retail, office or call‑center environments.
