Civil Party Chief – Survey Crew Leader

About the role

The Civil Party Chief will lead a survey crew in construction staking and field data collection. The role requires full‑time, on‑site work, ensuring accurate survey results and maintaining equipment integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform construction staking and all aspects of stakeout and location surveys using data‑collector, digital level, and GPS systems.
• Set up, operate, and routinely validate the accuracy of survey equipment, including Trimble Access, Trimble Business Center, robotic and conventional total stations, SX10/SX7 scanners, and Trimble GPS.
• Prepare legible field notes, sketches, and verify mathematical calculations related to boundary, topographic, roadway corridor, control, and as‑built surveys.
• Maintain survey equipment, keep the survey truck stocked, and conduct calibration checks.
• Coordinate and supervise assigned subordinate personnel, providing training and guidance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years experience as a survey party chief.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons, travel as needed, and operate safely near roadways or congested traffic.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Trimble Access, Trimble Business Center, Trimble Robotic Total Station, conventional total stations, SX10/SX7 scanning, and Trimble GPS.
• Experience with data upload/download routines, site calibration procedures, and ALTA/NSPS land‑title survey methods.
• Knowledge of survey equipment operation, digital level usage, and GPS system integration.
• Part 107 UAV certification (preferred).
