Civil Foreman – Construction Crew Supervisor

About the role

Archer Western, a member of the Walsh Group, is seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to lead a crew of 3‑15 construction workers on highway, heavy civil, and building projects in Surprise, AZ. The role combines crew supervision, coordination of daily activities, and oversight of equipment operators to ensure safe, on‑time delivery of project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule crew members and equipment operators across the assigned work area.
• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings to determine required procedures.
• Mark and measure site locations for placement of structures and equipment using appropriate tools.
• Record personnel, production, and operational data on required forms and reports.
• Inspect work progress, equipment, and site conditions to verify compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
• Train and enforce company safety policies, drug‑free workplace requirements, and procedural guidelines.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of verifiable construction experience, with at least 5 years in a foreman or crew‑lead role.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing crews and subcontractors.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with crew, project management, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Physical ability to climb scaffolds, lift up to 50 lb, and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and adhere to all safety policies.
